Pastor charles h. taylor sr.

Charles H. Taylor, Sr. was born in Houston, Texas on November 23, 1950 to the late Tom and Hattie Taylor.  He is the fourth of five children.  He grew up and attended school in the Houston area.  He accepted his Christ as his personal Savior at the young age of twelve..

Charles H. Taylor was ordained as a Deacon on February 4, 1973 at Mt. Herman Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Enos D. Eldridge.  On November 24, 1974, he was licensed to preach the Gospel at Mt. Herman Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Uran Justice, Sr.  On April 19, 1977, Charles H. Taylor, Sr. was ordained in the Gospel Ministry under the late Rev. Uran Justice, Sr.

Later, Reverend Taylor moved his membership to St. Matthews Baptist Church in 1979 and became the Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Matthew Moore. The Holy Spirit directed Reverend Taylor to move his membership to Grace Cathedral Church in 1988. Reverend Taylor He was installed as Pastor of Grace Cathedral Church in February 1989.  Under his leadership, Grace Cathedral Church has grown from approximately fifty members to over 400 members.  Because of Pastor Taylor’s vision, Grace Cathedral Church moved into its new edifice in October 2001.  Additional property was purchased in April 2001, October 2003 and over 30 acres purchased in August 2009.
